  • The Nantucket Restaurant Association Brochure-50,000 printed and distributed throughout the island with a free listing in web site.
  • The NRA is a co-sponsor of the annual Chowder Contest which is one of the highlights to the fall on Nantucket Program with proceeds benefiting the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce and the Nantucket High School’s Culinary Arts Program.

Community Service

  • The Nantucket Restaurant Association announced their yearly scholarship will now be given in memory of Chick Walsh, one of the founding members of the Association and Nantucket restaurateur. The $1500 scholarship is awarded annually to a Nantucket High School graduating senior who will study culinary arts or restaurant management.

Employee Training

  • Serve Safe Certification Courses and TIPS Alcohol Awareness Classes are organized for member benefit.
  • Member published Quick Guide to Alcohol Service.

Information Updates

  • Bi-monthly newsletter was distributed to keep members informed of NRA issues and events.
  • Monthly Meetings every third Thursday.

Political Representation

  • The Nantucket Restaurant Association hosted a meet the candidate’s forum for the office of Selectmen, Tuesday March 18, 2003 at the Nantucket Inn.
  • Members of the Executive Board went before Town Selectmen to oppose the potential liquor license increase, up to 20% for seasonal licenses, and continue to communicate with the Selectmen on these and other issues
  • Representation on Nantucket Chamber of Commerce Executive Board
